A glimpse into a few happenings from the Herring household and a few images from my camera lens.

Eating an Elephant?
"The best way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time."
I'm not sure who told me this amazing quote, but it's very good to remember on busy days. And since today is one of those days - that's all I have time to say. Chew on that!

...and a good time was had by all!
Don't you love Thanksgiving! It's a great time to get together with family that you haven't seen for way too long and just eat and eat and then eat some more. Well, we did just that on Thursday. We were at Grandma Herring's for lunch and then headed to Grandma and Grandpa Young's for supper. There weren't near as many cousins at Grandma Herring's this year - but we still managed to get in our game tradition. We played "Facts in Five" (the Englund version) and also "Pass the Cup" - both great fun! It was great to have Seth and Natalie at Grandma Herring's. We are normally on "off" years with them - so we miss them at both Thanksgiving and Christmas. They switched this year because of a new niece that's on the way out in Missouri. Hopefully they will stay with this pattern so we can see them more often. :-)
Learning the rules here for Pass the Cup. Singing and moving your hands with a cup in them is challenging believe it or not. Then - we added a second cup! Ooohhh - two cups at once.

Captain Jeff!
Congratulations to my brother, Jeff, who got his pilot's license last week!
Aaron and I got to be the very first ones to ride alone with him. What fun! He's a great pilot and we had a blast on our plane ride. Jeff flew us over to Westfield, IN in only about 45 minutes. Aaron's mom met us at the Indy Executive Airport and got to see us land and take off. She had cold cokes and warm chocolate chip cookies for us - yummy!
It was a blast! Here's the documentation of this new adventure.

We flew over UBC. It's kind of hard to see, but it's the building in the center with two horizontal white stripes.
We saw a corn maze! It was so cool! Click on this picture to see a closer view of the "Eat Beef" and the cow. I love corn mazes - but had never seen one from the air!

An African Safari
Actually - this is at Cabela's in Kansas City. What a great place! It's similar to Bass Pro, but better.
No, Aaron and I did not go to Africa and adopt a baby! :-) (Thanks, Leanna!)
I've always loved Zebras! They are such a fascinating animal. It would be kind of funny if people had stripes like that, wouldn't it!? Any volunteers?

Happy Birthday to Kendall!
Khara's in the Kitchen
Yep, even though my niece lives about 600 miles away, she is now sitting on the very top of my kitchen cabinets. :-)
Jana let me take practice pictures of Khara when I was in photography classes trying to figure out what I was doing (many moons ago). I happen to really like this one and since my kitchen is yellow and blue, she fits right in!

What is Love?
This hilarious video was shown at the GBS Valentine's Banquet last February. It's a little lengthy (about 15 min), but well worth your time. Even the credits are good! Check it out!
