Wedding of Eric and Ashlee

Weddings are so much fun!

Saturday was my cousin's wedding out in Overland Park, Kansas - Eric Englund married Ashlee Wright. It was great to be with family and see some extended family and friends I don't get to see very often. Here are some pics of the grand occasion.

Mr. and Mrs. Eric Englund

Aaron was an usher - I loved the striped tux pants!

Kendall was a groomsman.

Eric's immediate family.

The entire Englund family - actually just those that were there.

Jana and I got to cut the cake at the reception. Neither of us had ever done this before, so needless to say we had an interesting time - and a good many laughs!

Introducing Cocoa Deuel

This past Saturday we went to visit our dear friends - Matt and Erika Deuel. The grand occasion for the visit was for us to meet the new addition to their family! A four-legged addition, that is. Despite the fact that Cocoa is an "inside dog", she is a very good dog and did look cute in her Ohio State sweater (a cage-warming gift courtesy of Matt).

We celebrated at Applebee's - yummy!

Missionary Service / Philippine Memories

The Missionary Service tonight at church with John Parker really made me want to go back to the Philippines! Since we can't go right away, I decided to just look through our pictures from last summer. Such good times and oh so many memories! Here are some of my favorites.

We did LOTS of hiking - hard work, but fun.

Little blind Jesse was SUCH an inspiration to us all. He loved being with our team and doing the hiking and did not want us to "help" him at all.

Dana and I made lots of memories!

The little children lined up very eagerly to get vitamins. They were so fascinated with Americans!

After 7 days of Medical Missions and a 7-hour Jeepney ride (with no AC and lots of dust), we finally made it back to the Keep's house. Hooray!

School Pictures

School picture are so much fun - if you're the photographer, right?! Why do so many people hate getting their picture taken? It really is not painful.

This year I got to do the school pictures for Aldersgate Christian Academy (GBS elementary/high school) and for Union Bible Academy. I try to make it as easy as possible for the students and we also have some fun too! I love doing class pictures. When I was in school I loved having a picture of my entire class. It's fun to look back and see who has changed and just to remember who was in your class and what people looked like.

It's very sad to me when parents don't order the school pictures of their children (and not just because I'm the photographer). Kids change so fast and it's important to have pictures that capture them as grow. I've heard people say, "Oh, I'll get pictures taken somewhere else." But, they NEVER do. This is tragic. So, PLEASE get pictures taken of your kids - whether school pictures or not - DO IT! (OK - I'll get off my soapbox now and let you see some of the pictures from this fall.)

6th Grade class at ACA (Jenny Fikes' class).

We have several sets of twins in the elementary. Twins are so fascinating, so this year I took a picture of all the twins and gave them a free 5x7 just for fun. They looked great and of course the parents loved it.

Cameron Herring (8th grade at Union Bible Academy) and yes, he is Aaron's brother. :-)

Kindergarten Class at UBC. Aren't they cute!

Making the Leap

I've finally done it. I've made the leap. I've finally jumped on the bandwagon with the rest of the world and now officially have a blog. Hooray!
